Paul Sloan's collage work Fight (2018) presents two young Palestinian men armed simply with a slingshot and a gesture, recalling the story of David and Goliath.
During the first intifada, Palestinians used stones, slingshots, words and walls to organise resistance. Messages distributed in secret were written on walls, listing the schedules for daily strikes and protests. Walls in refugee camps, cities, and villages became the newspaper, the community noticeboard, the call to rise up and shake off occupying oppression.
